I have a pair of the gap selvage. I bought them last year I think. They were okay over all. they have blue lines. but they didn't hide the selvage in the pocket and they don't shrink at all and were way too big. I even ordered a size smaller than normal and they were huge.

But they were only like 30 bucks so in that case they were a great deal...

Selvage doesn't automatically means the denim is of great quality and non-selvage denim can also be of very good quality, just look at the ALD 140z denim f.e.

Mmm, after the hemming is undone, it's suprizingly easy to make the inseam come apart =0 That explains the broken inseam I saw on a pair of Samurai's after only 5 months of wear?

Excluding the quality, price, brand, design, fit etc etc which company has the best designed selvedge?

I love the Paul Smith Multripe found on some of his RED EAR jeans or the 'British' ones on the RED EAR aswell (Red, Blue, White striped).


RMC & Yoropiko have started to use a 'worded' selvedge which is quite cool. Combines the vintage appeal of selvedge denim with a modern twist.

I like the traditional red selvedge... and the LVC white selvedge. The original. The historical part matters more then the design and fashion to me

I've had red, black, silver, green, vintage white, selvedge with waves (a Yoropiko), etc.

I like the vintage pure white selvedge the most.

Agree on the plain white selvage, nice and clean, always a winner.

This is my personal fav.
